Apple schedules WWDC for June 13-17, expect the future of iOS, OSX, watchOS and tvOS

While Siri spilled the beans about Apple’s WWDC to kickstart on June 13, Apple has now confirmed the dates with an official announcement. So, the 27th annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is all set to take place from June 13 to 17 in San Francisco. The keynote address will be at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, followed by the rest of the week’s conference sessions at Moscone West. At the event, expect Apple to talk about its four software platforms — iOS, OS X, watchOS and tvOS.  Developers looking to attend can apply for tickets via developer.apple.com/wwdc/register/ starting today until April 22. The tickets will be issued via random selection process or lottery and applicants will be notified by April 25. “With four innovative operating systems and a new, intuitive programming language powering over 1 billion devices worldwide, there has never been a more exciting time to bring our developer community together,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “WWDC 2016 is going to be a landmark event for developers who are coding in Swift, and building apps and products for iOS, OS X, watchOS and tvOS. We can’t wait for everyone to join us — in San Francisco or through the live stream.” It should be noted that WWDC tickets for 2016 are priced at $1,599 and developers looking to purchase tickets must register with Apple’s Developer Program. Apple is also offering 350 WWDC Scholarships to students and members of participating STEM organizations across the globe. Besides, it is also offering 125 scholarships to aspiring developers with financial limitations.
