Apple rumoured to be prepping four new iPhones for 2017

Next year will be a landmark for the iPhone as it will complete 10 years of existence. Launched back in 2007 by Steve Jobs himself, the smartphone is still one of the most desired devices. Rumours say that Apple will make it big next year and could move away from its tick-tock upgrade cycle to announce the iPhone 8. The next in line should be the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus though considering the 7 and 7 Plus launched this year. A new rumour however clears up the air, well a bit. A report published in the Japanese media says that Apple is working on bringing not two, but four iPhones for 2017. This means that we might get to see the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus along with the regular updates in the form of the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus. While the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus could be slight upgrades based on the current lineup, the iPhone 8 series will have a complete new design language to mark its 10th anniversary. There is also the mention of the fact that the new smartphones would use Apple’s A11 processor. Additional information reveals that there might also be a new red colour variant to draw in more customers. If this rumour turns out to be true then the new colour option will join the existing jet black, gold, rose gold, silver and black option. As for the use of OLED display, the report says that Apple might use that only for the iPhone 8 Plus while the rest will have regular LCD based display panels. There is also the mention of double glass and metal frame design like the iPhone 4 and the inclusion of wireless charging.
