Apple revises iCloud storage plans; to start from Rs 65 per-month for 50GB

Apple has just released the iOS 9 mobile operating system across the world with Indian customers having got access to it since 10.30PM last night. But along with the new OS, Apple has also made some revisions to its iCloud storage subscription plans.

Apple has just released the iOS 9 mobile operating system across the world with Indian customers having got access to it since 10.30PM last night. But along with the new OS, Apple has also made some revisions to its iCloud storage subscription plans .

While the free storage is limited to 5GB, the paying subscribers using iCloud storage will now be paying Rs 65 per month for 50GB storage; Rs 190 per month for 200GB storage and Rs 650 per month for 1TB storage. Previously, the prices were Rs 60 per month for 20GB storage; Rs 250 per month for 100GB storage and Rs 1,200 per month for 1TB storage.

Apple has discontinued the 500GB storage plan. According to Apple, all users who had purchased plans before 16 September, will be paying the new rates going forward and their accounts will be automatically upgraded. So for instance if you applied for the 100 GB plan, now that same plan will be upgraded to 200GB and next month onwards the subscriber will have to pay Rs 190.

According to Apple, iOS 9 is available as a free software update for iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 4s, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini and iPod touch fifth-generation. Some features may not be available across all regions or languages.
