Apple has finally issued a fix for the unexpected shutdown problems, that have been plaguing MacBook users since July. The problem used to occur due to some heatsinks inaccurately gauging the MacBooks CPU temperature and powering off the Mac in order to save it from damage.
According to Apple’s advisory , the MacBook SMC Firmware Update 1.1 improves the MacBook’s internal monitoring system and addresses issues with unexpected shutdowns. The advisory also states that the update is recommended for all MacBook systems, including those that received warranty repair.

For upgrading to this fix, the Mac system has to be updated to at least version 10.4.7.
