Even as Apple announced a couple of new iPhones at its event yesterday, it quietly added a new colour option for its iPod line of products as well. While it wasn’t spoken about during the launch last night, the “Space Grey” colour that Apple showed off with the new iPhone 5S will be added to iPod too.
The iPod Touch, iPod Nano and the iPod Shuffle will all be available in the classy new grey colour as well. Apple has announced that the only models not getting this colour will be the iPod Classic and the 16GB iPod Touch as they’re only available in the black front and silver back combination.
Now in a new Space Grey colour
The redone iPods have reportedly already hit Apple Stores at the same price as the old ones. The fact that Apple has decided to introduce a new colour instead of a whole new model to its iPod range points to the fact that the Cupertino-based company seems to have had a slight change in its priorities. The iPod line is not likely to see any upgrade in the near future. Even when Apple does decide to shift focus back to its music product, it is likely that only the Shuffle and the iPod Touch will be worked upon, the iPod Classic not having had seen an upgrade since 2009.
Apple, in a rare move, announced two iPhones at the event yesterday. The budget iPhone 5C joins the iPhone 5S in Apple’s new catalogue, The iPhone 5C, touted to be a cheaper iPhone, will be available in a multitude of colours and will be made out of a polycarbonate body.
