If you are holding on to that Tesla purchase in the hopes that Apple will announce its Apple Car sometime soon, think again. The Information has reported that the introduction target for the Apple Car has now moved back one year from the earlier 2020 to 2021. The publication got it touch with three brothers who are said to have worked on the Apple Car (also called Project Titan). The same article also happened to include an interesting snippet: “One person who worked briefly with the Titan team was told during their tenure at Apple that the company had been trying to deliver a vehicle by 2020 but the target slipped to 2021.” Earlier reports pointed to 2020 launch for the Apple Car, a project that has been under wraps for a really long time. Back in January there was big news about project head, Steve Zadesky quitting Apple after 16 years. The same was attributed to personal reasons. According to 9to5Mac, there were about 600 people involved in the project about a year ago. MacRumours reported back in April that Apple has gathered a bunch of open-minded recruits in a secret car lab in Berlin where they have been given all the freedom to think and do without boundaries and restrictions. Last we heard, Apple was looking for charging solutions that are expected to replace gas stations for EV drivers. Soon after Apple made a massive investment in Didi Chuxing which was perceived as sign of Apple’s interest in driverless cars.
