Apple opens development office in Hyderabad

With Apple CEO Tim Cook currently visiting India, the company announced the opening of a new Office focused on development of Apple Maps in Hyderabad.

With Apple CEO Tim Cook currently visiting India, the company announced the opening of a new office focused on development of Apple Maps in Hyderabad.

“Apple is focused on making the best products and services in the world and we are thrilled to open this new office in Hyderabad which will focus on Maps development,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. The company is determined to focus on tapping the abundance in skills and potential available in the country. This office is second such centre to be announced on the second consecutive day after the announcement of new iOS app Design and Development Accelerator in Bengaluru.

The company is continuously working on improving and adding newer features to Apple Maps and recently added Transit to the mapping solution after 3D views and Flyover feature.

The new office will be expanding Apple Maps team and at the same time provide world-class LEED-certified home for the team.

“This will create thousands of jobs here and is a testament to our proactive approach, quality infrastructure and the excellent talent base we have in the region. We are honored Apple chose Hyderabad as a home for its Maps development office," added Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao.

This office will help Apple compete with the rival Mapping Solutions provided by Google and Here Maps.
