The iPhone Upgrade Program was available to Apple customers in physical Apple Stores in the US. It is now available on its US web site as well. The iPhone Upgrade Program allows for the phone to be purchased using installments, covers the device with the AppleCare+ protection plan, and gives users a new phone every year. The iPhone Upgrade Program is carrier agnostic, and works with all carriers with an unlocked iPhone. Consumers benefit from this arrangement by not having to pay the full price of the device, or be stuck with a particular carrier contract. The monthly installments are paid every month directly to Apple, and after 12 months, you get the new device, and the cycle repeats. The iPhone Upgrade Program includes AppleCare+, which covers the cost of replacement of the device in case of malfunction of the device or accessories. The AppleCare+ plan also covers the cost of two incidents of physical or water damage every year. Apple benefits from the iPhone Upgrade Program, as it locks in users into buying a device every year. Apple has said that it expects each device to last for three years . The iPhone Upgrade Program is available only for the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. The cheapest offering in the plan is the iPhone 6s 16 GB which is available for $32.41 per month. The top of the range 128 GB iPhone 6S Plus is available for $44.99 per month.
