It’s that time of year again; Apple’s September event is just around the corner and the world will go into a frenzy. This year’s event will be held at 10:30PM IST and, as always, will be streamed live on Apple’s website. As usual, there are also some caveats when it comes to watching the stream and if you’re not on an iDevice or Windows 10, there’s a bit of setting up to do. Expect to see a bunch of new iPhones and maybe an Apple Watch 2. There’s also a slim chance of glimpsing updated iPads and Macs. When? The September 2016 Keynote will be streamed live on Apple’s official website at 22:30 IST on 7 September 2016.

Where? The official requirements for streaming the keynote live from Apple are as follows:
- Safari browser on iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad running iOS 7 or later.
- Safari browser on a Mac running OS X 10.8.5 or later.
- Microsoft Edge browser running on Windows 10.
- Streaming on Apple TV is supported, but only on a second, third or fourth generation device running software 6.2 or later.
Unofficially, you can stream the event to your Android phone or a PC not meeting the above requirements using VLC. Here’s how you do it:
- Download VLC for Mac, Windows or Linux or Android from here.
- Head to Media>Network Stream and enter the URL for the keynote.
Unfortunately, that URL will not be available till the event starts, so keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages and we’ll share the link once the stream goes live. Apple’s official Twitter handle recently went live as well, so that might be a good place to start for event updates. If, for whatever reason, you can’t follow the keynote or don’t intend to, you can keep an eye on our site where we’ll post a live blog with minute by minute updates on the keynote.
