Bottom line
For a non-Plus version of flagships from Apple and Samsung, the latter offers a larger 5.1-inch display compared to 4.7-inch seen in the iPhone 6s. The Xperia Z5 keeps up with the latest trend featuring a 5.2-inch Full HD display. Samsung's Super AMOLED display is crisp and sharp with the highest pixel density at 577 ppi. Apple has added 3D Touch that brings pressure sensitivity to the screen. On paper, both Samsung and Sony outshine the iPhone display that features 326 ppi pixel density. However, you can expect high quality viewing experience from all three devices.

Even with a larger 5.1-inch display, the Galaxy S6 is lighter than the iPhone 6s, while the Z5 weighs 154 grams. But iPhone 6s comes with aircraft grade aluminium and when it comes to craftsmanship and looks, as we know Apple steals the show.

In terms of processing power, all three seem to be at par with Samsung employing its own Exynos procesor, Sony opting for the powerful Snapdragon 810 and Apple with its latest and most powerful A9 chip.

Apple has bumped up the RAM to 2GB. Though it may look less compared to other two devices, iPhone 6s is ought to work even more swiftly than its predecessors considering the RAM requirement by Apple devices.

Sony Xperia

Apple has also bumped up the camera to 12MP and added 4k recording, but that still doesn't mean it has leaped ahead of its competitors. The new live photos software feature is also worth noting. In terms of connectivity, Samsung seems to be better positioned.

iPhone 6s will be among the first to run the latest iOS 9 out of the box. The Galaxy S6 that was launched with Android 5.0 is upgradeable to 5.1 while Z5 comes with Android 5.1 out of the box. Moreover, the Galaxy S6 and Xperia Z5 being premium devices are likely to get the Marshmallow update in the future. It's more about preference here, between iOS or Android.

The iPhone 6s comes with improved Siri and the company has ensured its digital assistant his more evolved.

Price always plays a crucial role. Owing to the price and current availability, the Galaxy S6 at that price is a steal considering the iPhone 6s could be priced well above Rs 50,000 whenever it comes here. The Sony Z5 is yet to launch in India and if priced well, it could woo audiences.  However, that may not really stop Apple fans from getting their hands on the iPhone 6s. All in all, the three devices are fighting a close fight.
