The Apple iPhone 6, which launched in September, is perhaps one of the most talked-about devices of 2014. Going by Google’s most-trending searches , it’s also one of the most sought-after smartphones yet. We had the chance of reviewing the iPhone 6 when newly launched and were pleased with what it had to offer. With a sharp display, nippy processor, large screen size and brilliant cameras, it has everything you’d want from a premium smartphone. But as we’ve seen in the past , smartphones can behave differently when used over a period of time. Once the novelty fizzles out, more often than not, you are left with a device that seems just as dreary as the one it had replaced. Starting at Rs 53,500, the Apple iPhone 6 is one of the most expensive smartphones you can buy. Needless to say, expectations are high for a smartphone as pricey as the iPhone 6. Does the battery wear off? Does it draw out any performance issues in the long run? How’s it like to live with? We surveyed a bunch of iPhone 6 users find out the answers. Things that users liked the most Despite the design overhaul, it’s the speed of the device that ranked highest in the list of things that users enjoyed most about the iPhone 6. A majority of the respondents said that they found the iPhone to be faster than older iPhones and that there were hardly any performance issues with the iPhone 6. The larger display also got a huge thumbs up. The slick interface, camera and the fingerprint scanner were other positives highlighted by some of the respondents who took our survey. Shaun: Bigger Screen, but not too big like the Plus or Note series. Much faster than my previous iPhone ( which was getting slower). Harish Dabas: It’s very slim than any another iPhone and much more faster! Supriyo Adhikari: very good….user friendly…well built..stronger hardware Things that users liked the least While many said that they liked how the iPhone 6 looked, the new design is apparently a pain to use. The rounded edges, combined with the thinness makes it too slippery to grip. Users also said that it felt very fragile, causing a constant fear of dropping and breaking the device accidentally. Harish Dabas: It gives an impression(looks) of any other Samsung phone! It’s still a good option to pick, but it’s somehow lacking in speed. Ravinder Saxena: The kinda fragility it has. Expected more hardware power as compared to it’s earlier counterparts. Shaun: Too thin. Makes it slippery and always have the fear of dropping and cracking it. Price always is on the higher side, but am upgrading my phone after a long time so mentally justifying it. Average User Review: 8.6/10 Overall user verdict Of all the respondents who took our survey, 80 percent had used an iPhone before. A majority of this lot said that they would not go back to using Android. Reasons for the same being the ease of using the iOS operating system and the fact that it integrates well with other Apple devices. 70 percent of the respondents felt that they got their money’s worth and each one of them said that they would recommend the iPhone 6 to their friends and family. It’s worth noting is that none of the users who took our survey commented on Apple Pay - one of the most-hyped features of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. This is because none of the respondents were from countries where Apple Pay is currently available.
