We’ve earlier heard from various sources that the next iteration of the iPhone– presumably the iPhone 6 – will be featuring a larger display. Now, Chinese news site C Tech has been tipped that Apple has started testing a prototype of the iPhone 6 with a 4.9-inch display.

The news report claims that the prototype that is being tested will be the successor to the iPhone 5s . Though there is no word on the successor to the iPhone 5c , it is highly speculated that it should also be getting a larger display. It should be noted that both 5s and 5c feature the same display size. If the news is to be believed then Apple is still at the early stages of prototype testing. and there are chances of the company changing its mind for another display size.

News about the iPhone 6 had hit headlines even before the Cupertino Company pulled the covers off the latest iPhone models. Reports claimed that Foxconn had started hiring workers for “iPhone 6” production way back in July. Amidst the string of rumours, the most interesting one was about a 4.8-inch Retina+ IGZO display for the next generation iPhone. With the sudden buzz around “curved" and “bended” phone display panels, we wonder of Apple is considering a flexible display too.

Apple recently launched the new iPhones in India. The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants of the iPhone 5s are priced at Rs 53,500, Rs 62,500 and Rs 71,500 respectively. The 16GB and 32GB iPhone 5c is priced at Rs 41,900 and Rs 53,500 respectively. The company has also announced lucrative buyback schemes for the iPhone 5c in India.
