After announcing the beta version of its new OS, iOS 7 at  WWDC , Apple released the beta 2 version of the OS on Monday. The latest beta version is available through Apple’s over-the-air updating system on iOS devices and is scheduled for release in the later part of the year.

As reported by MacRumors, the latest version of the OS is available not only on iPhone and iPod touch, but also for iPad and iPad mini. The version comes with some minor changes to the beta version giving it a more polished look. To begin with, the welcome screen on iOS 7 beta 2 will require you to log on to your iCloud account giving you an instant access to iMessages and to the e-mail accounts synced with the same. iCloud backup is also available on this version of the iOS, something that was missing in the earlier beta.

Reminders got a facelift

Voice memo, which was missing on the first beta, has made a comeback with the latest release. Siri also comes with some improvements on iOS 7 beta 2. This option, now available under the general settings, comes with a gender option for the voice. Though this was available on other languages, this is the first time English on iOS will have both male and female voices.

Clean and flat Weather app

The lock screen album art has received minor touches for iPhone 4 and 4S. The Weather app has also undergone changes, giving it a slim look  and it now brings weather updates from all the cities listed in the app. Though this might be not the final version of the OS, this beta release can give us a good idea of what to expect when the final version is launched later this year.
