Apple has finally introduced support for rival Microsoft’s latest OS, Windows Vista. This support was introduced via an update to its Boot Camp software. The new update, introduces support for the 32-bit version of Windows Vista, as well as updated drivers for various hardware included with Intel Macs.

This update just legitimizes a Windows Vista install on Apple’s machines. While there have been already work-arounds in place for some time now that allowed people to install Windows Vista, the drivers that had been provided till now by Apple were not Vista compliant. This in turn, led to a situation where particular hardware functions would become unavailable under Windows Vista.
All this has now been fixed under the latest Boot Camp release. Apart from releasing updated drivers, Apple has also provided an important functionality update simply called Apple Software Update. As the name states, it will allow users to update drivers and Apple software from within Windows in a timely manner. In other functionality updates, Apple has introduced full support for the Apple Remote in Windows, which will allow users to control both iTunes and Windows Media Player.
