Storming into the video programming world, Apple, in a press release, announced that, Jamie Erlicht and Zack van Amburg, former executives of Sony Productions and creators of 'Breaking Bad' and 'The Crown', would be joining them.
Both the executives have been presidents at Sony Pictures Television, since 2005. The US tech giant will now join the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. It is already in the testing phase through Apple Music subscription where it has been adding documentaries and reality TV shows.
In the press release, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, Eddu Cue, said, “Jamie and Zack are two of the most talented TV executives in the world and have been instrumental in making this the golden age of television.”
Erlicht and Amburg, who have been creating Emmy award shows. Both have won 36 Emmy awards. Indeed this is not the first time that they would be engaged in video programming. The duo have worked with Hulu, Netflix and Amazon previously.
Apple already has two shows which are 'Carpool Karaoke' and 'Planet of the Apps' on Apple Music.
Other shows that have been produced by this duo are, 'The Blacklist', The Bloodline', 'Rescue Me' amongst others.
