Here’s a reason to celebrate for all you iOS users. Apple’s App Store is turning five-years-old in style, and the Cupertino-based company is giving away a bunch of much-loved iOS applications for free.
The Store will be blowing out candles on July 10 and to celebrate the occasion, it is making apps like Infinity Blade II, Where’s My Water?, Tiny Wings and more free to download. Where’s My Water? by Disney is priced at $0.99 (Rs 60 approx.) and has gone free for the first time. Atmospheric action adventure platformer Badland too has been added to the list of free games.
Happy birthday, App Store! We love the return gifts
Amongst the apps that Apple is giving away for free, Traktor DJ – which is usually priced at $20 (Rs 1,200 approx.) – seems to be a steal. Superbrothers: Sword and Sorcery EP and Infinity Blade II both usually cost $7 (Rs 420 approx.) and are free as well.
Other apps like journal Day One, Barefoot World Atlas and image editor Over can be downloaded for free too. Apple has not officially announced these titles going free, but the timing coincides with its anniversary and seems like the only plausible explanation.
Having said that, this may not be an exhaustive list of the apps currently free to download and we’ll keep updating it as and when we get to know more about them. It is also unclear as to how long the applications are going to be free to grab, so we suggest you make the most of it and start downloading them right away.
