Apple CEO Tim Cook reiterates India focus at Jio's special event for the iPhone 8, 8 Plus

The **Apple iPhone 8** /8 Plus launch with **Reliance Jio special offers** was announced by chief of strategy of Jio, Akash Ambani at an event held in Mumbai. Mid-way through the event Ambani revealed a surprise in the form of a video stream by Apple CEO Tim Cook. The Apple CEO, mentioned the features of the new iPhone and mentioned how iOS 11 brings new augmented reality experiences to the Apple ecosystem. Cook also spoke about how Apple has added new keyboards for India and how the software now supports 11 local languages with dictation support in Hindi. Given below is the extract of his speech via a video live stream: “Thank you for coming out today for the launch of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus A special thanks to Mukesh and everyone at Jio for hosting the celebration for iPhone customers. At Apple, we are incredibly excited about this new generation of iPhone – iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus. They make everything we love about iPhone even better. We think you will love the new glass and aluminium designs with wireless charging and new retina HD displays. iPhone 8 has the smartest, most powerful chip ever in a smartphone, the A11 bionic, designed by Apple. I wish everyone a very happy and safe Diwali.” This is the fastest time frame in which Apple’s iPhone’s have reached Indian shores, just after a week’s time of getting announced for the US market. Reliance Jio has launched a tariff plan especially for iPhone 8. The Rs 799 plan will provide 90 GB of data per month for post-paid users, over and above the free voice, SMS and complimentary subscription to Jio’s premium applications. The Rs 799 plan is also available for prepaid users with a 28-day validity. Additionally, customers will get Rs 10,000 cashback on 29 September, the day of the launch, when they use a Citibank credit card to purchase the phone. In addition to this, customers purchasing the iPhone 8 / 8 Plus from Reliance Digital, Jio.com, Jio Store or MyJio app, will also be applicable to get a 70 percent cashback if they return the devices after a year. Installation of the MyJio app and usage of the Jio SIM card for a year is pertinent to claim this offer. You can use the cashback to purchase the next iPhone in 2018 or purchase other electronics goods at any Reliance Stores. The cashback voucher has a six-months validity. The iPhone X was unveiled by Apple alongside the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus on 12 September at Cupertino. The 10th anniversary iPhone or iPhone X will be selling in India from Rs 89,000 from Apple Authorised retailers.
