Apple has 'accidentally' revealed the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 in its iOS 8.1 iPad user guide (which users get within the iBooks app).

Of course the pages have now been removed but still the leak has pretty much been caught by everyone.

Apple is to launch the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 today at around 10.30 pm IST. So what do the screenshots reveals to us? Well for starters both the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 have the Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

According to 9to5Mac, the designs of the two new devices are the same as the older versions. It also appears that the iPad Air 2 will get a Burst Mode version in the camera like the iPhone 5s. Burst Mode allows users to take a bunch of images together and then the users can choose which one to keep.

The fact that Touch ID is coming to the iPads was actually a confirmation of what was long expected. As far as the expectations from the iPad Air 2 go, the company is rumoured to launch a gold version of the new tablet in order to boost sales.

Other upgrades include a faster A8 chip (the kind we've seen in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus) with 2GB RAM which would be significant change given that Apple has stuck to the 1GB RAM rule for all its devices up till now.

It remains to be seen whether like with the iPhone 6, Apple will get rid of the 32 GB version for the iPad Air as well. Where iPad sales are concerned, they have been declining and Apple will have to bump up the specs and perhaps offer something really different in order to ensure that users take up the new iPads.
