This week, there were two interesting app updates that cater specially to travellers - Google Maps launched an update to help cyclists plan their routes and Snapchat included location-based filters for photos captured at famous landmarks. These location-based filters are currently limited to only a few landmarks, at the moment, and are part of the test run. Download the Snapchat app on the Play Store or Apple App Store Jawbone for iOS Jawbone’s latest update for iOS focuses on weight loss by allowing users to set a weight goal, after which the app creates a daily calorie target based on your height, goal, current weight and physical activity. Users can track their progress with tools for logging food, weight and calorie balance. There’s also a logging process with new tools like a dedicated water logger, restaurant menus, common pairings and frequent meals. Plus a food score that indicates the healthiness of a dish. Download the Jawbone app on the Apple App store Google Maps  The latest Google Maps update allows cyclists to plan their routes. The app gives an estimation of the elevation along routes so cyclists can pick up the route that has the least number of uphill travel. The app currently sorts the routes based on travel time rather than convenience. Users can also give speak to the app with voice commands such as “Which is the flattest route?” or “Which route has the least traffic?” while in the navigation mode. This update is currently available only to Android devices. Download the Google Maps app on the Play store PayPal Paypal’s latest update allows you to link loyalty cards to PayPal and now has a speedier login process. They’ve also completely taken away the ability to scan checks from the app. The update is currently available only on the Play store. Download the PayPal update on the Play store Scribd Scribd, an e-book reading service updated its iOS and Android apps to provide a fresh new browsing experience with new colours and font sizes.
