As a surprise for many, Andy Rubin's PH-1 Essential Phone has got a price cut of $200 dollars. The smartphone that supports an external 360 camera and was initially priced at $699 but after the price cut it is now available for $499 in US.
Generally a price cut of a phone indicates a step to boost sales if the phone is not performing well in the market or the company is planning to bring a new device and wants to clear the stock of the previous device. Apple, Samsung and many other brands follow the strategy while launching a new device.
But, the company has given another reason for the price cut of its PH-1 Essential phone. According to a report on TechCrunch the company is providing a discount to take all the available space left in a market dominated by brands such as Apple and Samsung.
The company is offering Friends & Family code of $200 to those who have purchased the device before 22 October. The code can be used to purchase a new Essential Phone or an Essential 360 camera. Users have to submit their details including IMEI number, Serial number, place of purchase etc. on its website before 15 November to receive a code.
Essential is also providing EMI options starting from $24 for those who want to pay for the phone in installments. The price cut is valid for all the color variants of the device.
Essential's PH-1 was launched in August and comes with a bezel-less screen and titanium body. The smartphone features a Snapdragon 835 and comes with 4 GB Ram. It is powered by a 3,040 mAh battery and features 13 MP rear camera.
