It’s just been over two weeks since Google released the final build of its new Android update, Nougat. While the update is currently available on Nexus devices, and the OTA is still in the rollout phase, Android One devices have also started getting the new version of the mobile OS. Just like last year with Marshmallow, Android One devices are getting the new version of Android via an OTA update a day after Google released factory images for Nexus devices. The info comes from a Cherry Mobile G1 user. Last year, Android One device made by Indian manufacturers including Karbonn and Micromax had received the Marshmallow update. There is no confirmation if all Android One devices will get the new update. For a quick recap , some of the prominent changes of the new update include improved notifications which feel more informative and richer. They now show up in broader cards which take up more space on your screen. Then there is multi-window support which has been long awaited, so now you can run two apps simultaneously in a split screen mode. Other tweaks include better battery management through Doze, new quick setting toggles, a range new emoticons, new animations, a data saver mode, more informative settings and a bunch of tweaks and fixes. Have you got the new Android 7.0 update on your device yet? Let us know in the comments below.
