EA has released the recently-announced Amusement Park Set expansion pack for its city-building game SimCity. The expansion pack is available on EA’s own digital distribution platform Origin , and buying it will set you back by Rs 549.
The expansion pack allows players to add a new tourist attraction, the titular amusement park, to their cities. The amusement park is said to be complex and will require attention. According to Gameplay Scripter Jason Halvorson, “Running a successful Amuesement Park is almost a mini-game in itself.”
Here’s the official description of the Amusement Park Set according to its page on Origin: “Create your own customized, fun-filled amusement park! Build your park around your city’s terrain and layout using amusement park paths. Your amusement park will benefit both locals and tourists alike as they fill your park, riding all the rides and shopping at the concessions. Take your pick from three themed entrances to bring Sims into your amusement park. Draw tons of tourists to your theme park city and watch them stay in your hotels and spend money in your shops!”
The Amusement Park Set is now available
Efficiency will be key with the amusement park – while it will generate money for your city, the onus lies on you to build the perfect layout to maximise profits, since you need to have an efficient layout to get park guests to rides and attractions in efficient ways.
To get the amusement park going, players will need to place one of three main gates for the park. Each gate comes with one ride, a concession stand and a small road that you can link to the rest of your city.
The attractions of the park are split into two sets – primary attractions and secondary ones. The primary attractions are the big rides, like a roller coaster. Secondary attractions are cheaper to build and maintain than the primary ones, but don’t satisfy customers as much. Secondary ones include drop towers and carousels. The cheapest attractions in the expansion pack are the concession stands, which have a small capacity, but satisfy more guests faster.
New modules for the expansion pack become available as you boost your daily profits and upgrade the park to higher levels.
Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns.
