AMDs Six Core Dragons to Retire by December

According to Turkish site, DonanimHaber , AMD will most likely be retiring their entire Phenom II X6 line up by Q4. If this slide is to be believed then, the X6 line up which includes the 1100T BE, 1090T BE, 1075T and the 1065T will not be manufactured anymore, come 2012. These CPUs will most likely be replaced by AMDs upcoming Bulldozer series which will adhere to the new Socket AM3+ motherboards. Although the series will have reached EOL by Q4, AMD will still honor the warranty for existing customers.

The Bulldozer FX series of CPUs will consist of eight core and four core models that will cater primarily towards enthusiasts. While these CPUs will be expensive to begin with, we should expect major price drops on the current Phenom II X6 processors as they inch closer to their EOL period.
