Alone in the Dark delayed

If wishes were horses, Atari would be riding them like they’ve never been ridden before (yes I know that sucked). In June, the developer reported it’s earning for its 2006 fiscal year which turned out to be the worst Atari had ever seen, with a loss of nearly 67.1 million USD.

It’s no wonder they sold off their Driver franchise to Ubisoft for 24 million USD and have priced their upcoming MMORacer, Test Drive unlimited at $39.99 , much lower than what next-gen or even current generation games are priced at.

And now it seems the one title that could elevate their situation will be delayed as well. Here’s what Bruno Bonnell, Chairman and CEO of Atari had to say, “We are announcing effectively Alone in the Dark as one of our franchisees for the future, It will be probably the hit of our next year.”

For Atari’s sake, I hope it does. alone in the dark.jpg

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now. see more
