Alcatel is known for its budget friendly, high-specced smartphones in India. The OneTouch 4S headset from Alcatel is another in the same vein, but will come in packaging that will double as a VR headset (think Google Cardboard), VentureBeat reports. When launched, the Alcatel 4S will be the most powerful smartphone in Alcatel’s line-up. Specs indicate a Snapdragon 652 processor (octa-core), 3GB of RAM, a 16MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP front camera (with flash). The device will also feature expandable storage and boasts of a 5.5 inch, quad HD AMOLED display. All this in a package that’s expected to retail at $400 (~Rs.27,200). Also expected is the Idol 4S’s younger brother, the Alcatel OneTouch 4. The latter is expected to retail at $250 (~Rs.17,000) and feature vastly toned down specs, such as a Snapdragon 617 processor, 2GB RAM and a 13MP rear camera. We can expect to see both headsets hit the international markets in May, though there’s no word on an official release date for India.
