Airtel has updated its data pack priced at Rs 98. The recharge pack for now, is only available in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circles and has been rolled out for data-heavy prepaid users because it provides no calling or SMS options.
The updated recharge pack from Airtel will provide 5 GB of 4G/3G data for 28 days. According to a report on Brinkwire, the pack is still costly as compared to other budget data packs provided by the company.
Airtel offers 28 GB on the recharge of Rs 149, which also includes calling and SMS. The price of 1 GB data comes to Rs 5 in Rs 149 plan, whereas on Rs 98 data pack, 1 GB of data costs Rs 20.
The Rs 98 pack is however seems more than enough for the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circles, as the same pack offers 3 GB of data in Kerala circle and 1 GB in other cities. Another pack that provides unlimited calls, 1 GB data and is valid for 28 days is priced at Rs 93 in other circles, this pack provides a validity of 10 days in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Reliance Jio which also sells budget data packs provides 2 GB of data on the recharge of Rs 98. The pack also offers 100 messages per day and access to the Jio apps for 28 days. Jio's Rs 101 data pack offers 6 GB but has no validity and needs to be bundled with an existing pack with validity.
