Airtel Introduces an On-Demand Online Movie Viewing Service

Subscribers of Airtel’s broadband service will now have access to Airtel’s newly launched on-demand online movie viewing service, called Airtel Movies. Through this service, Airtel claims to have added over 500 movies, 100 TV shows, 100 trailers, 100 music videos to their catalog, which has now been made available to the consumers. This service, powered by BigFlix would cost the consumers Rs. 229 per month, without any additional bandwidth consumption charges levied on it, except for those consumers based in Punjab. Consumers can view the content on either their computer, or their laptop, or even on their tablet. Airtel adds that its service will be available on Wi-Fi, as well and therefore can be enjoyed anywhere around one’s space without any restrictions.

The payment for its online movie viewing service will come as a part of the generic broadband bill that Airtel’s users get each month, and hence Airtel claims this to be an easy payment mode. In order to avail the services, Airtel broadband users can visit the company’s official website for the service – www.airtelmovies.com or can SMS ‘movie’ to 53636.

Mr.Girish Mehta, Chief Marketing Officer, Telemedia Services, Bharti Airtel called the launch of ‘Airtel Movies’, as the brand’s latest move towards enriching internet experience, whereby they can ‘do more with the internet’. His views were echoed in Mr. Manish Agarwal,Chief Operating Officer, Reliance Entertainment who believes that their partnership with BigFlix holds great promise, and that the ‘on-demand’ movie viewing experience will prove to be one of its kind.
