Airtel extends 30GB free data offer for postpaid users by another 3 months

Bharti Airtel has extended its “Holiday Surprises” **offer** , launched in March which included 30GB of free data for all postpaid users. The offer was initially intended to end with the June billing cycle but will now continue for another three months. CEO of **Airtel** , Gopal Vittal sent out email’s to customers on Saturday, which read, “Now as the monsoons approach, we are sending another shower of data your way. I am delighted to share that we are extending the data surprise by another three months. Now you get the extra data for three more billing cycles. All you need to do is claim your surprise on My Airtel app after July 1, 2017.” Users who had already claimed the offer would be automatically updated to the new offer, labelled ‘monsoon surprise’. The rest would have the option to claim the offer on the ‘My Airtel’ app. The offer which was launched by Airtel back in March to celebrate the network being adjudged India’s fastest network by global speed test hosts, **Ookla** . The move to extend the offer comes at the time when major competitor, Reliance Jio will start charging for its services. Airtel will clearly be aiming to hold on to its valued postpaid customer base from jumping ship to other providers. Several telecom providers had recently suggested to the regulatory body **TRAI** , the idea of imposing a floor price for voice and data. The meeting was held to assert that providers should not be allowed to offer free services below a set floor price.
