However before Bangalore Airtel users jump at joy at the thought of using 4G for voice-calling, they should note that Airtel uses TD-LTE to provide 4G services.
According to AndroidOS.in , consumers will need a smartphone with support for TD-LTE to use the service, which are not present in the Indian market right now.
Airtel had announced Huawei’s 4G enabled Ascend P1 LTE exclusively for its 4G LTE network last year, but the phone isn’t available any more on Indian online shopping websites.
