Disney’s Finding Dory is set in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and is soon going to hit theatres. To celebrate that fact (and to market it), Airbnb is partnering with Disney to offer you one night in a room on the reef itself. [caption id=“attachment_319644” align=“aligncenter” width=“624”] Image: Airbnb[/caption] You and 3 other guests will get the chance to live it up in a floating bedroom that resides on the Great Barrier Reef. On arrival, you’ll be welcomed by a host who’s spent his life with marine biologists and will offer you a unique perspective on marine life in the reef. Once settled in, you’re free to go swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving, if you so desire. Food will be taken care of by Australia’s Neil Perry, a chef of some note. All meals will be prepared form locally sourced produce. Airbnb Australian Country Manager Sam McDonagh says, “The opportunity to live at one of the most spectacular places on earth, even if just for a night, is not just about experiencing the unrivaled beauty of the location, it’s about understanding how humans can better help and support this special environment.” [caption id=“attachment_319645” align=“aligncenter” width=“624”] Image: Airbnb[/caption] He also added that Airbnb would plant mangroves and other vegetation for every person that visits the region. Contributions will also be made the tiger shark tagging project at the Great Barrier Reef Foundation. With some exceptions, anyone, anywhere in the world is eligible. You and three other guests will be flown in for free from wherever you live. To participate, simply click here, read the eligibility criteria, create an Airbnb account and send them a mail from the registered address. The mail must contain a 50-500 word essay on why you’re the right person for such a trip. The contest will run from June 9 to June 30.
