Adult app developer MiKandi making porn with Google Glass; app coming soon

Google Glass has been Rule 34’d. Adult Android app developer and distributor MiKandi recently told ZDNet that it has begun making porn content with Google Glass. What’s more, the first app for the wearable gadget will be coming to the MiKandi app store soon. 

To be honest, we sort of expected someone to come along and start making porn with Glass sooner or later. The wearable gadget lets wearers shoot videos from their perspectives, and if you’ve ever watched any porn, you’ll know exactly why it holds so much appeal for adult content creators. The gadget promises to take user engagement to a whole new level, and it was only a matter of time until someone took advantage of its abilities.

Working hard with Glass

ZDNet cited MiKandi founder Jennifer McEwen as saying that they were experimenting with Glass’s video shooting abilities. “Google Glass Porn has been making its rounds, and while studios are intrigued, no one seems to be doing anything about it. So I wanted to let you know that we picked up our Glass and, yup, we’re making content for it. As far as I know, we’re one of the few, if not the only, adult companies with the device right now. So far, it’s really fun!”

“We’re experimenting with the features of Glass. From our initial use of the device, photo and video recording is more powerful than we expected. Obviously, Glass is perfect for shooting POV video, so we’re experimenting with that first. But what’s really interesting about Glass is that it’s not just a hands free camera. It can receive and send data, so there are a lot of interesting interactions that we want to explore,” she was quoted as saying.

MiKandi came into its stride when Apple purged its App Store of about 5,000 “naughty” apps in 2010, leaving the adult app distributor’s store as one of the few places you could get racy apps. The company also has some apps of its own.

But it seems this isn’t just an experiment for MiKandi. McEwen said, “For us, it’s not really a shift in direction, but the natural progression of the types of products and content we want to offer at MiKandi. We’re always focused on offering the best experiences in adult entertainment, so it’s important for us to stay on top of immerging technologies and push the industry forward.”
