Adobe's Umang Bedi to join Facebook India as Managing Director

While Facebook is being searched upon online for plenty of other reasons these days, the social network’s India operations has now appointed Umang Bedi as its Managing Director. Bedi comes with close to two decades of experience in sales, marketing and partnership and has been building teams for multinational companies. Umang Bedi will be taking over from Kirthiga Reddy who recently stepped down from the same role in India, only to take up a new role at Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park. Umang will officially start at Facebook in July and Kirthiga will commence her new role from August. Before Facebook, Umang Bedi was the Managing Director of Adobe, South Asia region and was responsible for the growth of the company’s business in India. “India is known for its great talent pool and we are really pleased to have Umang Bedi, a proven business executive to lead our business in India. I also want to wish Kirthiga the very best in her new global role. Kirthiga has played a huge and key role in building our India business from scratch, and I know she will continue to deliver the same impact in the US.” said Dan Neary, Vice President, Asia Pacific, Facebook. “I am thrilled to join Facebook and am looking forward to working with the talented teams in India, to help brands and agencies grow their business on our platform. Getting into the details, Bedi is an engineering graduate from Pune and an alumni of the Harvard Business School. He was also a awarded the prestigious  ‘40 Under Forty: India’s Hottest Business Leaders Award 2014’ given by The Economic Times and Spencer Stuart in 2014. Meanwhile, Adobe has promoted Kulmeet Bawa as Managing Director of South Asia and India. Bawa will take over from Bedi from 24 June.
