Acer Ushers in New 5830TG TimelineX Multimedia Notebook

Acer’s TimelineX series of notebooks have always been received well, ever since they were launched more than a year back. Like any annual upgrade cycle, Acer has once again refreshed the series with new specifications and design with the new Aspire 5830T and 5830TG (with discrete graphics) notebooks. Prices start from Rs.32,999 for the base model.

Slim, yet power-packed

Configurations include a choice between a Core i5 or Core i3 SandyBridge CPU, up to 4GB of memory, 500GB hard drive and an optional GT 540M graphics card. It will also pack in two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, Bluetooth 3.0 along with the regular assortment of ports and connectors. On the audio front, we have Dolby Theatre v4 audio for richer sound and the notebook will also feature Creative’s ClearFi streaming media service, which can connect to any DLNA certified device. No word on the battery life but if Acer decides to implement Nvidia’s Optimus then we could expect above average backup time.
