Google finally brings its Chromebooks to India two years after its launch. The new Acer C720 Chromebook was launched this week, while the HP Chromebook 14 was released last month. Both Chromebooks are now available for pre-order via Flipkart. The site will start shipping the devices from October 17 and they appear to be priced pretty well - the Acer C720 at Rs 22,999 and the Chromebook 14 at Rs 26,990.
The Acer C720 is 0.75-inches thin and weighs 1.25 kg. It sports an 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 pixels of resolution. The C720 is powered by an Intel Celeron 2955U dual-core Haswell processor clocked at 1.4GHz, along with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of storage and promises up to 9 hours of battery life. The Chromebook supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and has a decent collection of ports including multi-card reader, USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and HDMI ports.

Some of its other features include a full-sized HDMI port, 16 GB of internal storage, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, an HD webcam, an SD card slot and a battery that HP claims will last upto 9.5 hours of continuous use.
HP had also announced a Chromebook 11 this week, which is a direct rival to the 11-inch Acer Chromebook. Unfortunately, the C720 competitor won't be available in India for now.
The Acer C720 is available in Smoky Grey and the HP Chromebook 14 in Snow White shade. What do you think about the new laptops? Will you be picking Chromebooks or Windows or OS X systems? Let us know in the comments.
