Toronto based publisher, Throwback Entertainment has picked up the rights to a bunch of Acclaim franchises such as Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance, Vexx, Legends of Wrestling, Extreme-G Racing, Re-Volt and Summer Heat Volleyball. As you may remember, Acclaim (Turok, BMX XXX, Burnout 1, Speed Kings etc) filed for bankruptcy in 2004, closing it’s doors for good. Some of the titles they were working on were picked up by other developers, while some were left hanging in limbo. Not only will the franchises picked up by Throwback Entertainment be revived as sequels, but a lot of them may make the transition to next gen. According to Throwback CEO, Thomas Maduri, “Acclaim Entertainment was responsible for the creation of some wonderful original games, and unfortunately couldn’t see them through their lifecycle. We are very pleased to have been afforded the opportunity to take these titles through the next generation, and onwards.” Viva la resurrection.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now. see more
