As with all of Xiaomi’s offerings, the company’s Mi Notebook Air laptop offered great value. It’s now come to light that Xiaomi is gearing up to launch an updated version of that device on 23 December.
The current Mi Notebook Air offers an Intel i5 6200U CPU, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, an Nvidia 940MX graphics card and 256GB of storage with a 13.3 inch Full HD screen. All of this is available at around Rs 50,000 in China, which is almost Rs 20,000-30,000 less than anything that the competition has to offer.
It was already a great deal.
However, Gizmochina reports that they’ve received an invite to a Mi Notebook Air event scheduled for 23 December. The invite bears an image of a Mi Notebook Air, but the keen-eyed observer will note the presence of a network connectivity indicator on the laptop’s display.
This probably means that the laptop will launch with integrated support for 4G SIMs.
We can’t think of anything else that Xiaomi needs to update, however. We expect that there is indeed a hardware upgrade, the new device will come with Intel’s current, seventh-generation Kaby Lake architecture.
