A new leak hints at a universal payment card from LG

LG had announced to be working on a mobile payment system last year. If you thought the company will follow a similar path as Apple or Samsung, then a new leak suggests otherwise. According to Korea IT News, LG may not require a smartphone for the payment system at all. It will reportedly replace all your debit and credit cards with a single ‘White Card’. The card looks like a usual credit/debit card in terms of shape and size. You will find a connector array and also two buttons. The display is used to tell users which one of their cards has been selected. The buttons are used to switch between accounts, and also lock the card. The connector is used to charge the card. The company has pre-ordered about 50,000 White Cards for the launch, adds the report. The company is expected to unveil the new card at the Mobile World Congress later this month. LG has already inked deals with banks in South Korea. However, there is no word on launching the card in other regions.
