Just like its teaser for the G2, LG released a video teaser for its upcoming G Pad 8.3 tablet. However, the video didn’t give us a glimpse of the actual tablet. But a new report by Korean website MovePlayer further confirms the upcoming new LG Android tablet and claims that it would resemble the G2 smartphone.

The report shows rendered images comparing the G Pad 8.3 with the G2 smartphone. The tablet has clearly taken design cues from the smartphone, with the thin bezel, curvy body and its speaker-grille placed at the top. Besides the rendered image, the report confirms that the large 8.3-inch display will feature 1920 x 1200 FHD resolution. LG had recently dropped the Optimus label, making these the first devices in the new “G” series.
Here’s the teaser video released by LG for the G Pad 8.3:
We’d earlier heard about two versions of the LG tablet that were leaked in the Bluetooth SIG filing. The devices were code-named LG-V500 and LG-V507L. The names are almost similar to previous Optimus Pad, which hinted at the possibility of LG tablets in the pipeline. With the G Pad 8.3, LG will be entering the tablet space after almost two years. Its last tablet, the Optimus Pad, was launched in 2011.
LG is expected to unveil the G Pad 8.3 at the upcoming IFA 2013.
