HP has issued a recall for their Photosmart R707 digital cameras due to a report of the cameras overheating and bursting to flames when connected to an AC adapter or its docking bay. The problem is actually caused by the use of non-rechargeable batteries. When the camera is connected to a power source, the standard alkaline batteries inside are given a charge, which causes them to overheat to the extent of catching fire. Though there has been a report of the R707 camera catching fire, there have however been no reported injuries related to it as of now. This problem can be averted by not using non-rechargeable batteries in the R707 digital cameras or by applying this firmware
