Oppo, the Chinese phone maker that entered the Indian market earlier this year, has now launched the R1 in the Indian market. The 5-inch phablet is available for Rs 26,990. The Oppo R1 sports a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, it is powered by a MediaTek MT6582 chipset with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. The Oppo R1 measures 142.7 x 70.4 x 7.1 mm and weighs about 140 grams. On the camera front, it gets an 8-megapixel rear camera a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, both with f/2.0 wide aperture. It gets 16GB onboard storage, and there is no word on expandable memory. All of this is fuelled by a 2,410mAh battery. It also incorporates the PI technology that claims to produce more natural white balance and precise auto focus. Earlier this year, Oppo launched the N1, boasting of the world’s first rotating 13MP camera. Some of its specs include 5.9-inch 1080p IPS display, quad-core Snapdragon 600 SoC clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB onboard storage and 3610mAh battery.
