So, WhatsApp has become Facebook’s latest acquisition for a massive sum of $19 billion. The companies are as different as chalk and cheese and many believe that Facebook will mostly let the messaging app be, much like how Instagram has been left largely untouched (except for those in-stream ads). Having said that we couldn’t help but think how WhatsApp could change now that it’s a Facebook product.
Here are 5 scenarios where Facebook’s influence could hold heavy on WhatsApp:
Last Seen At:
The bane of every WhatsApp user’s existence, the “last seen at” feature might now don Facebook status message like shades. We’re just not sure if we’re ready for the selfie deluge yet.
Quite like Instagram, Facebook could well want to insert advertisements right inside your conversation. This is how the world will end:
Boost Your Message:
Remember how being able to send a message to the primary inbox of a stranger on Facebook costs money? Yeah, well, we would hate to see Facebook charge money for something like getting a message delivered faster on WhatsApp, or delivered to all members of the group. Oh the horror!!
Candy Crush Requests:
This has spread like a rash on Facebook and rashes we all hate. Enough said.
WhatsApp Redesign Updates:
Facebook is NOT awesome when it comes to rolling out design changes to all its users on time. To make matters worse the social network keeps changing its look ever so often. Hopefully, Facebook will not bring an update to WhatsApp every few days, we’re sick of updating the mobile apps!
Tell us what Facebook features you would totally hate seeing on WhatsApp in the comments section below.
