4-inch iPhone 6c expected to launch in mid-2016: Report

While user demand compelled Apple to adopted bigger screen sizes, looks like it still plans to hold on to 4-inch display. In line with the previous rumours about a 4-inch iPhone 6c, IHS analyst Kevin Wang now reveals that the new 6c is expected to launch in mid-2016, according to a report by GForGames. Earlier this month, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known for accurate Apple predictions, had said that Apple is working on a refreshed 4-inch iPhone model. Kuo added that the 6c will be positioned as a budget device during its launch in the first half of 2016. The company is likely to ship between 20 million and 30 million units by the end of the year, Kuo had further added. In terms of specs, the device is rumoured to come with a metal casing wrapped around the assortment of sensors, circuits and processors respectively. Apple will most likely include an A9 SoC. However, the device will not come with the new 3D Touch feature, which allows a user to hard press a particular icon and get quick access to the basic menu of the app. Earlier reports suggested that the iPhone 6c was planned to launch alongside the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, but later Apple pushed the release for next year. If reports are to be believed, then this will be the company’s second attempt at building a budget iPhone after the iPhone 5c flopped. This is a great move considering Apple wants to enter the budget segment in emerging markets like India. This will also mean, for the first time, the company will release three variants of the iPhone in a year. Moreover, one shouldn’t forget that iPhones are responsible for the record-breaking revenue and company profits.
