We reviewed the OnePlus 2 smartphone and found it to be a good value for money offering considering the updated hardware that it packs in. Unfortunately for many, not everyone wanted the 64GB variant of the OnePlus 2 even though it was retailing for Rs 24,999. Good news, is those who wanted a more affordable version of the smartphone can now finally go in for it since OnePlus has finally released the 16GB variant of the smartphone for a lowered price tag of Rs 22,999.
While the price may not look attractive, there is another problem for those buying the 16GB version. The 16GB version also comes with 3GB of RAM instead of the 4GB on the 64GB model. So not only do you get minimal storage, but you also have less RAM for multi-tasking.
More importantly, this is coming from a smartphone that does not sport a microSD card for external storage. And with app sizes growing bigger, it makes little sense to go in for 16GB model since you will end up with a "memory full" message pretty quickly. More importantly 16GB of storage makes little sense when you consider the 2's 4K video recording capabilities and that 13MP camera (which translates to higher quality photos).
The OnePlus 2 has other problems as well. There's no NFC and neither does it sport a QHD display like other flagships. Still then, for those looking for an affordable smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset inside, the 16GB OnePlus 2 may be the answer.
