Apple also slashed the prices of the original iPad by $100 bringing it down to $399. The latest launch Apple camp had loyal enthusiasts looking out to trade their iPads for the new model, according to gadget buy-back company, Gazelle.

The online firm further added that it was offered more than 2000 iPads in just one hour of the second announcement on Wednesday. With such response at the outset, Apple hopes to ward off all competition coming from Samsung, Motorola, and Dell, all of whom have their tablets out in the market. The iPad 2 runs on Apple’s new dual-core A5 chip and features nine times the graphics performance of the previous model.

The iPad, needless to say, has amassed great popularity. The top-end model with both Wi-Fi and 3G versions, would be sold for $829, and is expected to hit the US markets on March 11. India, however, will have to wait, as it will be a while before the iPad 2 makes an appearance.
