The Japanese based Line messenger app, which was launched in India in July, has crossed 10 million users in India according to the company. Line has also roped in Katrina Kaif as its brand ambassador for India. Line will also releasing free India-exclusive stickers featuring photographs of Katrina Kaif ahead of Diwali. “India has overtaken Japan to become the country with the third largest number of smartphone users. It is only natural to anticipate further growth of the smartphone market in India, and we believe that it will become a vital territory as LINE expands into the global marketplace’, said Akira Morikawa, CEO of LINE Corporation in a press release. [caption id=“attachment_1156381” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Line has also roped in Katrina as their brand ambassador.[/caption] Line has also partnered with Sony India so that the app will come pre-installed on Xperia Z1 and Xperia C smartphones. Incidentally Katrina is also the brand ambassador for Sony Xperia phones. LINE is also partnering with films like Krrish 3 and DHOOM:3 and users off the app will get exclusive content access. Line also introduced some new features for the app. The first is video-calling via the app which will be rolled out across platforms and will use data or Wi-Fi connection to allow video conversations.
