Google’s latest flagship Nexus device, the LG Nexus 4, which up until now has been only available in the shady back alleys of India’s technology grey markets is now ‘officially’ available on Flipkart for Rs 25,990. However, the item is listed as ‘out of stock’ at the moment.
According to NDTV , it is likely that the phone is being sold by LG and not Google, given that it is not on sale on the Google Play store as yet. Hopefully that will also change soon.
The highly praised Nexus device has been described as one of the best gadgets to come out in 2012.
According to EnGadget , “The Nexus 4 is a veritable dreamboat when it comes to looks and specs. It’s a smooth, elegant-looking device… Google’s newest Android smartphone flagship will be one of the most exquisite devices you can buy”
The Nexus 4 specifications include a 4.7 inch screen with 768x1280 pixel resolution, 16 GB storage, 2GB RAM, an 8 MP rear camera and 1.3 MP front camera. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The other beauty of Nexus phones is that users get access to Android updates first and fastest as there is no developer build on top of the Android OS, unlike on other devices that run on the Android platform. So it is in every sense of the word, a ‘pure’ Android’ phone.
Other features include wireless charging, NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G. It also comes with a microphone, accelerometer, compass, ambient light, gyroscope, barometer, GPS
The phone was first announced in October 2012 and went on sale on November 13, 2012. Only minutes after the launch, the smartphone was declared as sold out in US, Britain, Germany and elsewhere and consumers were complaining of frustrating experiences at the inundated online shop.
