LG saves you download hassles with pre-installed BBM

BlackBerry’s popular BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) will soon come preinstalled on the LG’s G Pro Lite smartphone across the world. The announcement was made by BlackBerry today as part of an agreement with LG Electronics. The app will also be available on Google’s Android Play Store as well for a free download. “BBM is widely used throughout the Middle East, Africa and Indonesia where smartphone users tend to engage heavily in social networking,” said Kevin Shin, Vice President of Marketing for Asia, the Middle East and CIS countries of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said in a press release. “The LG G Pro Lite offers an optimised BBM experience with its large, high quality display and embedded Stylus Pen,” he added. Closer home in India, the company had announced that  phones from Micromax, Celkon, Spice and Zen Mobiles will also come with BBM pre-installed in them. BBM for Android and iOS was released in the last week of October. While the rollout process wasn’t the smoothest in the world (BlackBerry was forced to stop the rollout midway due to serve issues), the app did manage to cross over 20 million downloads within the first week of release on both Android and iOS combined. The BBM apps allows users to chat with each other instantly after exchanging the BBM PIN.
