Apple’s iPhone 16 series is facing a mixed reception, with overall sales not living up to expectations, in industry analysts, looking over Apple’s most recent sales numbers are to be believed.
However, there’s some good news for the tech giant — as opposed to its expectations, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models are performing better than anticipated, even though the cheaper and more budget 16 and 16 Plus models continue to see less than expected numbers.
Apple ramping up Pro Model productions
Despite the underwhelming sales for the standard, non-Pro models, demand for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max has been strong enough to cajole Apple to push its production lines and keep them running, claims notable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
According to reports, manufacturers have been asked to continue churning out the premium models even during China’s National Day holiday — a sign that Apple’s top-tier devices are in very high demand.
It was noted that while orders for the base and Plus versions are sluggish, the Pro models are meeting the company’s sales targets, with their shipment numbers matching those of the iPhone 15 Pro series at this stage post-launch.
Order cuts for some components
While there’s continued demand for the high-end models, there have been some small cuts in component orders expected from mid-November. These reductions, however, are minimal, affecting between 3 per cent and 5 per cent of the orders, and primarily impacting the less popular base and Plus models.
