Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest iteration of Androids Operating System is finally being rolled out for Indian owners of the device.

Ice Cream Sandwich now available for Indian Galaxy SII owners

Indian owners of the Galaxy S II have reason to celebrate. Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest iteration of Androids Operating System is finally being rolled out for the device. According to website Androidos.in, “The update size is 220.31MB, and it includes Touchwiz UI along with Ice Cream Sandwich and goodies like Face Unlock, Re-sizeable widgets, performance improvements, new People App and a lot more.” The size of the update means that users would be better advised to download the update over WiFi or through a PC, as it could possibly incur high data charges. More specifications are as follows: 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus Gorilla Glass display sporting a 480 x 800 pixel resolution with 16 million colors Dual-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor with a MAli-400MP GPU 4G (HSPA+ 21MBPs), EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi with DLNA compliance(AllShare), Wi-Fi hotspot support, Wi-Fi Direct GPS with a-GPS Bluetooth 3.0+HS, USB 2.0 with MHL for media out and USB-on-the-go 8MP AF camera with LED flash supporting 1080p video capture @30fps 16GB and 32GB capacities with 32Gb microSD card support NFC support DivX, XviD video codec support with 1080p video playback support Ice Cream Sandwich has been lauded by users for its easy multitasking, rich notifications, customizable home screens, resizable widgets, and deep interactivity. It has resizable widgets, new lock screen actions and also allows users to swipe to dismiss notifications, tasks, and browser tabs.
