How far can you flex the LG Flex and other important questions

The new curved LG G Flex, which has changed the look of the smartphone as we know it, is truly a thing of curiosity. Curved along its horizontal axis, to see the device is to quite frankly, wonder. How bendy is it really? Will this affect the way I take a call? How will I take a selfie? This post over at Tech2.com seeks to answer some of those niggling questions. [caption id=“attachment_1283759” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![File photo of the G Flex](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/lggflex_opt-21.jpg) File photo of the G Flex[/caption] According to the post, no - you cannot bend the phone both ways (This is simply not possible because of the solid internal frame. But you can keep the G Flex face down and put pressure to see the body flatten and snap back up when you release your hold. While this is a neat party trick, trying it the other way might just end the night) ThinkDigit is a little more brutal: If you were visualizing using the phone as one of those helpful stress reliever squishy balls, stop now! Yes. Just stop. According to the folks at SlashGear, truly flexible phone prototypes already exist but won’t be available anytime soon. _“LG says that’s probably not likely to change for another few years at least. The company does envisage a time of truly foldable phones, but while we’ve seen flexible prototypes before, the difficulties in translating them to production devices are still too grea_t” But  yes, it actually has a curved battery. (You might not believe it, but LG Chem has managed to produce a curved battery that fits snugly inside the bendy back.) As for other questions: Yes. Talking on it might be weird. But no, your photos will be pretty normal. So your selfies won’t be concave. The phone is expected to launch in February in India, and will cost upwards of Rs 60,000. It has 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, a 6-inch HD (1280 x 720), Curved P-OLED (Real RGB) display, and 2GB Memory. The rear camera is 13 MP while the front camera is 2.1 MP. The device will run on Android Jelly Bean. Other features of the phone include: • QTheater which gives users quick access to photos, videos and YouTube right from the lock screen. • Dual Window that divides the wide 6-inch screen into two separate windows. • Swing Lockscreen alters the image on the lockscreen depending on how the G Flex is held. • Face Detection Indicator displays the LED on the Rear Key in green to confirm status of face detection and focus. (this should help if the curved phone puts you off while trying to focus) For more details on the phone go here Watch a video review here:
